Day — who you are

The day pillar holds your Day Master, the single element taken as your core self. Most of a reading is written in relation to it.

Hour — where you are going

The hour pillar is read as your later direction and the things you build toward.

Why birth time matters — and what happens without it

The hour pillar needs your birth time. Without it, a reading still works from the other three pillars and says less about that fourth area rather than guessing.
